A Closer Look at Clay #6: Focus on Your Artist

Try to use this as a start for putting together your presentation for the class.

1. Find two images of work by your artist (you may have already found these).

2. Print out/Cut out, and neatly glue photo of each chosen work into your sketchbook. Include all information you find on the work (title, date, size, etc.) You must include your source (URL, magazine, etc.)

3. Write a legible (type if necessary) description (at least 4 sentences) of the basic form and the different parts of your chosen works on the same page. Write as if you are describing to a good friend over the phone.

4. WHY did you choose each piece? How did your artist make it? How do all aspects of the pieces go together? (Use our Aesthetic Scanning words in your descriptions: line, shape, form, color, texture, space, balance, unity, size/proportion, unity, emphasis, pattern, mood, etc.)

Credit format: Please use MLA format.
