Technical Skills


Exceeds the Standard
• All required information (see above) is present, complete and done with high quality.
• Care, control, and quality in both the forming and finishing techniques are consistent and excellent quality.
• The form is very well constructed and is without crumbs or unintentional cracks.
• The surface has been addressed with complete attention and complements the form.
• There has been great attention to end details.
• Your name is very neatly put on the bottom of your pot.

Meets the Standard
• All required information is present.
• Forming and finishing techniques are consistent and good quality.
• Some crumbs / small cracks may be present, but do not interfere with the overall impact.
• The surface has been addressed with good attention and works with the form.
• There has been good attention to end details.
• Your name is on the bottom.

Partially Meets the Standard
• Some of the required information is either missing or not complete.
• There are problems with the craftsmanship of constructing and finishing techniques of this sculpture.
• Crumbs and cracks take away from the visual impact and/or are distracting.
• Work lacks attention to detail.

Does Not Meet the Standard
• Your work is not complete and/or does not meet the criteria of the project.
• Much of the required information is missing or incomplete.

Creative Problem-Solving Skills


Exceeds the Standard
• This work is especially creative with regards to meeting required expectations (has a form that is derived from study of one of the cultures we have studied thus far: _, is decorated with culturally-inspired surface treatment)
• Outstanding, unique, and original approach to the assignment is communicated clearly.
